Our Musical Director is Mike Gearey.

Mike's full time job is a Trade Control Specialist with a major Japanese engineering company in Worcester.  He's been our Musical Director since 2016 when he took over from Chris Hartwright.

With a solid background in singing, as a young boy Mike started singing as a chorister in Kidderminster.  After a stint in the Army Mike went to work in the Middle East where he took up singing again, initially with an Expat Choral Group before moving on to forming a trio and singing Folk music in the "a cappella" style at monthly music nights.  Mike then fell into Barbershop, singing with a mixed chorus of Expats before being asked to form a quartet with some American Barbershoppers.  The quartet was involved in numerous fund raising charity concerts and most notably sang at the American Embassy on 4th July.  After being made redundant and finding himself back in the UK and the West Midlands, Mike joined Vale Harmony through a friend of his father's.  Mike has sung bass with Anvil Chorus in Birmingham as well as with Vale Harmony before he went "out front " to direct the chorus.

Mike has led us through some amazing fundraising concerts, including three joint performances at Pershore Abbey with the Great Western Chorus from Bristol.  We've been under his command at singouts at the Worcester Victorian Fayre, Pershore Plum Fayre, Three Counties Showground at Malvern and many more (see the chorus History elsewhere on this website).
